The information you will find here has been compiled in order to introduce our department - or perhaps your department - to you better. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more detailed information.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEM) deals with the design and analysis of electrical and electronic circuits and systems, focusing on basic engineering concepts for the purpose of solving engineering problems. In addition, it carries out education and training activities on signal processing and communication systems, electrical machines, control and systems, electrical installation organization and their industrial applications. With two 20-day summer internships, students gain industrial knowledge and application skills. Thus, students are included in advanced programs that will enable them to easily work in industrial or academic research environments in their working lives.
Our department, which accepted students for the first time at the undergraduate level in the 2001-2002 academic year, started accepting students for the evening education undergraduate program in 2011-2012. English Preparatory School is mandatory in the evening education program, and the four-year education-training program is 70% Turkish and 30% English. There is no English Preparatory School in the evening education program, and education-training is 100% Turkish.
70 undergraduate students are accepted to the evening and evening education undergraduate programs each year according to the results of the student selection and placement exam. There are 6 main branches in the EEM Department: Circuits and Systems Theory, Electrical Machines, Electrical Installations, Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave Theory, Electronics and Telecommunications. The laboratories available in our department are; Electrical-Electronic Circuit Laboratory, Electrical Machines and Power Electronics Laboratory, Communication Laboratory, Microprocessors Laboratory, PLC, Antennas and Microwave Laboratory and Computer Laboratory. In addition, our department has a Photonics and Laser Technologies Research Laboratory, a Wireless Communication Technologies Research Laboratory (KITLab) and a Signal Processing and Control Research Laboratory for postgraduate education and research.
Our students have the opportunity to study as exchange students in universities in European countries with the ERASMUS program and in universities in our country for up to one year with the FARABI program.
Our department continues its education and training activities with a total of 17 faculty members, including 9 faculty members, 4 Associate Professors and 5 Assistant Professors, 3 Research Assistants Dr. and 5 Research Assistants.
